Maine Vacation Tips

Take warmer clothes than you think you need to hike Katahdin or when you take a boat or ferry ride. Layered clothing and a hat will help you stay comfy.

Early June is a great time to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia. Virtually all the activities have reopened for the summer season and the crowds haven't arrived yet.

If you are flying into Maine, check other airports besides Bangor Airport. Portland, ME., Manchester, NH., Boston, MA. are other options. The prices per flight can differ dramatically between these airports. Believe it or not Manchester, NH. is closer to Portland than Bangor.

Acadia National Park and the rugged coastline of Maine are extremely popular places to see while in Maine. Be aware that the rocks near the ocean are extremely slippery. I promise, you don't want to be the dork that has to be fished out of the freezing Atlantic Ocean.
